A new approach to visiting

Dive into the heart of sound through body-based listening, offering a unique sensory experience that redefines the way we interact.

A total and unprecedented immersive experience

We are the leading specialists in “listening through the body”, giving a natural, renewed experience to digital sound content.

We designed Losonnante (lien vers Home Page) bone conduction sound devices to propel visitors into the center of the scene before them. Our immersive technology allows you to become one with the immediate environment, perceiving sounds in a completely new way. A listening experience that highlights vibrations, feelings and emotions.

A simple and inclusive solution for all.

Why Losonnante is unique

Using a Losonnante sound device means putting touch, sight and hearing into motion to capture the emotions and energy of a scene, painting or landscape.

Unlike other systems usually found in public places (audio guides, loudspeakers, outdoor speakers, etc.), our technology introduces a break in the visit. The visitors listen to something else, something different. Standing or sitting in front of this intriguing object, they become aware of a new way of perceiving sound, and listen through their bodies.

Thanks to our expertise and our work on bone conduction, we’re the only company in the world to offer involved, playful listening that encourages attention, memory and concentration.

This enables institutions using our technology to highlight important aspects of cultural mediation, heritage and landscape enhancement.

Different and against the flow

Losonnante offers a new relationship with digital interfaces, without intermediaries or movement, through direct involvement of the body and immersion in content,

In contrast to current trends, which emphasize speed and digital objects, we propose an original concept, where you have to be there, stop and take in the view.

We’re betting on an all-round experience that takes into account the environment in which the suggested hearing takes place, without the need for mobility or screens.

A project matured in CNRS laboratories

The concept of Losonnante sound devices was born in 2015 from an initiative carried out on the sensitive and protected tourist site of Lac de Paladru in Isère, France. The aim was to renew the experience of discovering the site without intervening too brutally, thanks to the sharing of stories and legends delivered in the hollow of the ear, in the same way as a tale.

To bring this project to fruition, we called on the skills of geographers, musicians and architect-plasticians. From the narratives of territories to soundscapes to the conduct of sound vibrations in materials, the Losonnante sound device was built as a multi-disciplinary project, where the arts (plastic and sound) and sciences (physics, materials, human and social sciences) meet.

Starting in January 2019, with the support of the Linksium Technology Transfer Acceleration Company, we joined the Pacte and AAU-Cresson laboratories attached to the CNRS, enabling us to work on the multiple dimensions provided by the Losonnante device (listening positions, modes of attention, connection between the body and the environment, relationship with haptics and acoustics), to produce a new listening prototype (working on form, materials, scenography), and to identify concrete situations of application. And finally, to present our first prototypes.

The launch of this program allowed us to put the object into use in a variety of formats: a digital arts festival, a sound discovery workshop for children, long-term availability for exhibition spaces…
And it’s thanks to all these collaborations and experiences that we were able to market our first model of immersive sound device in 2021.

Today, this rich and exciting background means that Losonnante is able to deliver bespoke installations tailored to our customers’ requirements, sites and contexts.
We work with artists, composers, choreographers, scenographers and scientists, bringing new approaches and new experiences to bone conduction listening.

A different sound experience made possible by bone conduction

Imagine yourself strolling through Paris in the 1870s, on the Pont-Neuf of Renoir’s painting. Or as a Roman at the Camp d’Alésia, before the attack by Vercingetorix and his troops.

Using the Losonnante sound device, you’ll experience the very essence of the landscapes, paintings and ancient sites you visit or admire.

Not all visitors will feel the same. The physical sensations will vary according to the position and pressure of the hand on the ear. And, of course, everyone will interpret what they see and hear according to their own personality.

But one thing is for sure: no one will remain indifferent to the feelings provided by sound vibrations, nor to the emotions heightened tenfold by the body’s bone conduction experience.
