Case study

The Banquet exhibition offered visitors a multi-sensory, immersive experience that was both tasty and festive. All the public’s senses were stimulated, as they all played a part in the perception of taste: eating means seeing, but also smelling, tasting, touching and, of course, hearing!

What was needed

The challenge was to be able to listen to the sound of food textures in the extremely noisy Main Hall. We wanted to make these food textures heard partly by bone conduction. After Paris, the exhibition went on tour for 4 years.

Solution implemented

A text written and read by columnist and chef Arnaud Daguin was recorded and translated into English and Spanish. Two multi-track systems were set up at different heights to be accessible to all. The furniture was custom-made by the Cité des Sciences team.
