Case study

Standing on a rocky shelf off the coast of France, the Cordouan Lighthouse, dating from 1611, is an architectural masterpiece and the country’s oldest working lighthouse. Open to visitors, this unique lighthouse offers a breathtaking view of the ocean and a plunge into maritime history. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Cordouan Lighthouse is a must-see for history, architecture and adventure enthusiasts.

What was needed

The Gironde County Council was looking for a way to showcase the works created by the Compagnie des Musiques Télescopiques at the Cordouan lighthouse. The company took up residence at the lighthouse to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of the site and produce sound recordings.

Solution implemented

For this project, our furniture and the box were transported by barge and received by the lighthouse keepers, who took charge of the final assembly due to the site’s inaccessibility during the off-season. We then coordinated remotely with the keepers to ensure the assembly and installation of the device. The Losonnante team continues to monitor the project, in particular for the integration of future sound creations.
